The Bishop moves through the series with all the comfort of someone who has never had to answer for himself — which means the moment of reckoning, when it finally comes, hits differently. --- ## About the Bishop High-ranking Church official. Middle-aged. Comfortable in his position in the way that people get comfortable when they've held power long enough that challenge feels like an aberration. He's involved in a conspiracy. The shape of it, how deep it runs, who else is implicated — that unfolds across all three World of Shadows books. He appears in The Everett Exorcism, develops further in The Vatican Children, and reaches his reckoning in The Bishop's Legacy. His pursuit by [Arthur Vangeest](https://llitd.com/arthur-vangeest-world-of-shadows) and [Desiree](https://llitd.com/desiree-world-of-shadows) — who carries knowledge of the conspiracy — drives the series' central conflict.
