Coming next month
Last Light in the Dark (Last Light Book 1) drops June 15 — five weeks out. Book one of a nine-book sci-fi horror series I have been building for two years. Kate Morrison, the Hollowing, and the long quiet kind of wrong that does not announce itself.
I am not going to oversell it. If you read the Raven's Peak trilogy and stayed for the third book, this is the same writer pulling a different lever — interior, slower, colder. The first ninety pages decide whether you are in for the rest. I think they are doing what I wanted them to do.
KU pick of the month
World on Fire — the Raven's Peak trilogy. Three books, paranormal thriller, a pair of demon hunters, and a house in Pennsylvania that is not what it looks like. I started this trilogy twice. The second time was the right time, and Raven's Peak is the door to it.
May is the right month for this one. The trilogy is a spring read in the same way an electrical storm is — fast, loud, three hundred pages and out. If you are between series and want something that moves, this is the slot.
From the desk this month
A short note on the wait. I know The Ashen Kingdoms Book 3 has been on the bench for three months running, and I owe you straight talk on it — I am not shipping that one until it is right, and right has been taking longer than I wanted. The book is not stuck. It is being written. I had to throw out the second draft in March and start the third draft in April, and the third draft is the one I think will hold.
If you signed up for this list expecting monthly drops, thank you for the patience. The pace I want to run is the pace where the books are good. Last Light shipping in five weeks is a good month. Ashen 3 will get its month when it is ready.
Thanks for being here.

P.S. If you read Last Light when it lands in June, the reviews in the first week matter more than at any other time. A line on Amazon is the thing that helps most. Thank you in advance.
