Last Light

Admiral Chen reflects on the loss of 1,342 personnel and the decisions that led to the tragedy. Kate recovers and meets with Chen, taking responsibility for her role in drawing the Hollowing to the station.

During the chaotic evacuation, Chelsea carries the unconscious Kate through failing corridors while Marcus covers their retreat. The station is being consumed by corruption spreading from multiple points. One crew member is absorbed by the corruption during their escape.

Three days after the battle, Marcus discovers that Kate's direct contact with the Hollowing has created a bidirectional connection. Three simultaneous dimensional rifts open near DDI headquarters, arranged in a triangle with the station at the center.

In the med bay, Kate sits vigil over recovering Commander Vance, plagued by survivor's guilt and the knowledge that her actions draw the Hollowing toward them. Chelsea comforts her, revealing that Kate's presence gives her and others reason to live, not just strategic value.

Commander Vance commands the Eclipse during a fierce space battle against the fifth corrupted ship, which attacks in coordination with a hidden second vessel. Kate, monitoring from the CIC, senses the hidden ship and warns of an ambush.
