The Temple

Burial chamber has four ka-doors sealed with condemnation magic for 3000 years. Thomas faces choice: leave pharaoh trapped or break seals to allow judgment. Weighs justice against mercy, punishment against compassion.

As the pharaoh passes to judgment, the temple fights back—the network compensates by drawing power from the lighthouse connection, causing the temple to heat and vibrate dangerously.

The pharaoh, now diminishing as a ka, shares his justification through memory images: his daughter Merit-Amen was born during the inundation, was curious and loving, and died peacefully of illness at age eight.

In the intimate ka-chamber where the pharaoh's consciousness is centered, a psychic attack overwhelms the group, forcing them to experience three thousand years of unbroken consciousness—the torture of endless awareness without relief.

The group enters the royal burial chamber and encounters the pharaoh's ka (spectral form). The confrontation reveals the pharaoh's three-thousand-year imprisonment in his own sarcophagus, his name erased and face destroyed as punishment.

The protagonist and three raiders gather four sacred components in a hidden cleansing chamber: water of truth, incense of divine presence, Ma'at's feather of judgment, and soil from the queen's suicide chamber.

Thomas examines central altar showing proper mummification versus pharaohs perversion. Documents traditional 70-day process step by step. Reveals pharaoh performed rituals on living people - the core of his blasphemy.

Sekhmet test - ENDURANCE. Physical combat where Sekhmet forces Thomas to access skills buried across four thousand iterations. Not about winning - about surviving long enough. Thomas body remembers fighting from manor, lighthouse, castle. Catches divine strike for one impossible second.

Osiris test - GRIEF. Instead of philosophical dialogue, Osiris transports Thomas to hospital room where Violet appears alive. She forces him to confront that his grief has become armor rather than memory - paralleling pharaoh refusal to accept daughter death.
