Arthur accepts his retirement from the Council after twenty-three years of service. The organization has evolved with advanced technology and global operations. Abigail is promoted to Deputy Director of Field Operations.

Years pass as Arthur trains Abigail intensively through adolescence. At age fourteen, she participates in her first hunt in Maine. A demon proves stronger than expected and injures Arthur, but Abigail manifests divine light and destroys it.

Arrival at remote Colorado cabin. Preparation for interrogation. Haatim confronts Abigail about torture ethics. Delaphene awakens. Abigail reveals dried verbena Isis Tears.

One year after the rescue, Arthur and Abigail establish routine in a Vermont safe house. Arthur heals from his wounds while beginning Abigail's intensive training. Frieda learns that Abigail possesses unusual prescient abilities and can sense approaching people and demonic presences.

Abigail pursues Delaphene across rooftops with extraordinary athleticism. Tackles demon in apartment. Escape using fake police badge. Drives unconscious nurse/demon north to Colorado. Haatim reveals lost faith after sister cancer death.

Council of Chaldea emergency session in Rome. Cardinal Vasquez argues for eliminating Abigail as a supernatural threat. Frieda advocates for her life. Arthur, despite severe injuries, confronts the Council and argues for mercy.

Abigail battles cultists. Breaks demon-possessed doctor knee forcing demon to flee. Dead cultist crashes through wall revealing warehouse. Abigail administers antidote explaining voluntary demon hosts. Pursues Delaphene across warehouse stacks. Haatim discovers fake hospital true nature.

Abigail's perspective from abduction through hospital recovery. Captured for the Rite of the Ninth Gate, she endures isolation and psychological preparation for possession by Mal'akheth. During the ritual, she resists possession until Arthur rescues her.

Frieda, Dexter, Charles, Mildred, and Arthur assault the Vangeest estate from multiple angles. Frieda and Dexter rescue four children from captivity while Arthur confronts Mal'akheth and Abigail on the ritual altar. Charles holds off a manifested demon.
