Delaphene — World on Fire

Delaphene is a Greater Demon who works with her sibling Christoph — deceptive, strategic, and proof that demons can be more dangerous working together.

Delaphene

Antagonist — World on Fire

Delaphene is Christoph's sibling — and like him, she's a Greater Demon who treats coordinated planning as a weapon. She takes the form of a nurse, the counterpart to his doctor, and the two of them construct an elaborate operation together.

About Delaphene

The thing that makes Delaphene stand out isn't just her power — it's that she and Christoph demonstrate something unusual in supernatural antagonists: actual teamwork. Demons in the World on Fire universe tend to pursue their own objectives in their own ways. Two of them, consistently working together, sharing a goal and a strategy, means the hunters facing them have to account for angles they'd normally ignore.

She's deceptive in the specific way that someone is deceptive when they're choosing a form designed to neutralize suspicion. A nurse in a hospital is someone you trust automatically, before any evidence, because the context tells you to. Exploiting that context is its own kind of intelligence.

Her coordination with Christoph is what makes them genuinely hard to deal with. Understand one, and you still have to figure out the other. The operation they run together works precisely because of this — and what it costs the protagonists is significant.

Personality

Deceptive. Strategic. Operating in a partnership that implies a relationship older and more developed than anything the Hunters are used to dealing with. The calm deliberateness of someone who's already figured out what the other person is going to do before they do it.

She appears in the World on Fire series as part of the network of threats the protagonists are only beginning to map.
