Elianna

Protagonist — World at War

She survived things no one should have to survive, and she came out the other side with abilities she didn't ask for and a story she can't stop telling. Elianna is one of The Faithful — and in a world learning to understand what that means, she's become one of its most important voices.

About Elianna

At fifteen, Elianna's life was destroyed by a cult. She was kidnapped, tortured, and broken. She watched her parents die. What happened next — during the massacre that ended her captivity — transformed her in ways that are difficult to explain and impossible to ignore. She emerged one of The Faithful: a group of survivors who came out of extreme trauma with supernatural gifts.

She can manifest golden eyes when she uses her abilities. She has visions. She carries the weight of everything she's been through with a kind of fatalistic determination — not peace exactly, but acceptance. She's been through the worst. She's still here.

In Raven's War, Elianna tells her story to journalist Matthew Cole. There's something deliberate about it, something almost like she expects it to be her last act. She's a woman who has learned to say what needs to be said before the moment passes, because she knows from experience that moments pass without warning.

Personality

Core Traits: Hardened by trauma but not hollowed by it. Fatalistic in the way people get when they've accepted that death is close, but still determined — still showing up, still doing what needs doing. There's a quality to her storytelling that suggests she's been rehearsing it for a long time, like she's been waiting for the right audience.

Strengths: Her supernatural abilities — visions, enhanced senses, the golden-eyed power The Faithful carry — make her formidable. But her real strength is her story and the willingness to tell it. In a world where the supernatural is hidden, a credible witness matters.

Flaws: The fatalism cuts both ways. It gives her clarity, but it also means she sometimes doesn't fight for herself the way she fights for others.

Fears: The gifts she carries come with costs. What those costs ultimately are is something the World at War series explores in full.

Character Arc

Elianna moves through the World at War series as both witness and participant. She carries the history of what The Faithful are and why it matters, and her presence forces both the Hunters and the reader to reckon with the human cost of a world where demons are real. Her arc is quieter than some of the others — but no less significant.
