About Surgat

He commands thousands of demons. His domain operates by his rules. Within it, he's almost a god — the physics tilt in his favor, the resources are his, and the scale of what he controls is staggering in a way that doesn't fully land until the third book forces Abigail, Arthur, and their team to reckon with it directly.

What makes Surgat the ultimate antagonist of the trilogy isn't just his power — it's what he represents. He's the thing behind the things. The escalating threat that the series has been building toward since the opening pages of Raven's Peak. Every previous danger in the series was, in one way or another, connected to the space he occupies.

The confrontation with Surgat forces the protagonists to fight something that can't be beaten by conventional means, in a place where all the conventional rules of engagement no longer apply.

Personality

Godlike. Ancient. The confidence of something that has ruled its domain for so long it no longer bothers to justify itself. He doesn't need to threaten. He just waits. His thousands of demon armies mean he rarely has to handle anything personally.
